The casa rural (country cottages) Gaztelubidea is at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria (Cantabrian mountains), in Bermedo, a quiet village with lots of green spaces and regional parks, such as Parque de Izki (Izki regional park). The cottages have been recently restored and are beautifully decorated in rustic style with completely equipped kitchens and bathrooms. We are located in the heart of the world famous Rioja wine making region where the unique combination of soil, climate and sunshine produce the finest wines in Spain. Visits to the local wineries are a must. Nearby activities also include golf, walking, hunting, climbing, fishing, visits to regional parks and ancient buildings, such as churches and hermitages. The Izki golf complex is only 5 minutes away and is open to the public all year round. The swimming pool in the photographs is the village swimming pool set in a lovely park with lawns, bars and terraces, is only two minutes from the house, across the lane. Open from June till September it is a lovely place to enjoy a picnic or a snack and a drink too. There are many excellent bars and restaurants in the area, and visits to the towns of the Rioja Alavesa only 15 mins away are a must for anyone interested in wine, wine tasting and discovering the ancient culture of the area. Centrally situated for days out to many cities in Northern Spain, less than an hour from Vitoria, Logróño, Pamplona, Bilbao etc. About 45 mins to the lovely beaches and fishing towns of the Costa Vasca. Direct flights to Vitoria by Ryanair from London and Dublin, and many flights to Bilbao.

There are two houses side by side. Both of them are for 4 to 6 people. One of the houses has 2 double bedrooms and the other house has two doubles and a small attic room with sofa beds suitable for children. Steep wooden staircase, not suitable for old people or toddlers. Pets are allowed but they have to stay outside.
