La Cueva came into existence by joining a ruined house,a very neglected chickenpen and a total ruin.We renovated everything with lots of dedication and love to the detail,trying to incorporate local materials like wood,stone,reeds from the river,esparto(local woven grass) and terracotta.The result are 2 holidayhomes,both very rustic,with lots of Moorish charme,but at the same time extremely comfortable with all the amenities.La Cueva is situated in the biggest of the 3 Guajar villages,20 mins from the coast and 1 hr from Granada.This is still a living white Andalusian village of mainly small farmers.Cool off in the Jacuzzi set into a cave with a waterfall,read a book in the pleasant patio or enjoy the magnificent views from the roof top terrace,where you have a choice of 2 shady pergolas.Or rock in one of the hammocks and let life go past.This place is as idyllic as it sounds,just lean back, relax and enjoy!!You enter EL SOL from the cool patio and find yourself in the openplan kitchen and diningarea.The whole house is furnished in an authentic and very tasteful style.The furniture and all other woodwork are carpentermade,the floors are of local terracotta,all the ceilings have wooden beams and some even reeds that we cut ourselves down by the river.The reed is tied with handmade esparto(a string made of local grass).All windows have mosquitonetting.The kitchen is fully equipped and is blue,the cozy eating area goes over into a warming peach.A bright and big staircase leads up into a comfortable livingarea,where we used a lot of riverstone,terracotta and wood,the colour peach adds to the rustic ambience.A sofa and another sitting corner invite you to relax. In winter you might want to cuddle up in front of the glassdoored woodburner. We also offer Sat TV and a radio/CD player and a small library.From here a door leads to the bedroom with its joining bathroom. |

Above prices are for 2 people per week. We calculate prices per night, with a minimum stay of 2 nights. For any extra person we charge an additional € 6.00 per night. At time of booking we will ask for a 25% downpayment, the remainder can be paid on arrival.
For arrivals within 14 days of booking (minimum stay 5 nights) we give a 10% discount.
We are flexible with arrival and departure days. All bedding , linen and towels are provided, except for beach - and pool towels.
In winter we provide firewood for a small fee.
A car is recommended, but airport pick-ups can be arranged. |
