Summary
This lovely holiday villa features sweeping views over tropical groves to the Mediterranean sea. Villa La Siesta is situated only a five minute drive behind the town of Motril, close enough for convenient shopping but far enough away to lose the traffic and bustle. Above the private pool, from La Siesta´s large terrace, one can watch the cruise ships in the distance as they glide into the port. Enjoy dining alfresco on the spacious terraces and cooking on the brick built BBQ as you watch the sun set over the sea to the west. The 8 mtrs x 4 mtr mosaic tiled swimming pool is surrounded by plenty of space for having lunch or lying out on the sunbeds. Nightlights are provided for an evening dip and tiled stairs at one end of the pool allow easy entrance and exit to it. A sizeable well-kept garden adjacent to the pool is laid to lawn with mature orange and lemon trees. La Siesta can accommodate 6 people with 3 bedrooms (1 double and two twins). All bedrooms feature plenty of clothing storage so you can completely unpack and make yourself at home. Wood windows and shutters add to the country charm of this peaceful rural retreat. The generous kitchen is fully equipped with a large fridge/freezer, lots of counter space and plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. An adjacent utility area complete with sink and washing machine provides an out-of-the-way spot for laundry. Those wishing to spend time indoors will find plenty to do as it is well stocked with music equipment, satellite TV (free to air), a good selection of videos and numerous board games, books and tapes. Villa La Siesta is only a 3 minute drive to an excellent modern supermarket that is easily accessible with plenty of free parking. A minute or two more in the car will find you in the heart of Motril, a working Spanish town favoured as a getaway by residents of Granada and anyone else who detests the overbuilt jungle further west down the coast! Feeling hungry? Motril offers a wide variety of restaurants, tapas bars, wine bars, cafes, pastry shops and bakeries. Here you will probably find the best clothes shopping on the Costa Tropical, with many boutiques displaying the latest high street fashions. Making the rounds of the shops is a joy in Motril as many of the stores are in a pedestrian zone that is interspersed with plazas where you can pause for a drink or a coffee. Motril is located near so many places of interest that the biggest problem may be trying to figure out which to go to first! The Alhambra Palace and the beautifully, culturally rich city of Granada are a mere fifty minutes away by car. Countless quaint mountain villages dot the Alpujarran countryside en route to Granada and many of them are well worth a visit. Or stay on the coast and explore the seaside towns of Salobreña and Almuñecar. Nerja, a longtime favourite, is about half an house westward along the beautiful scenic coastline.
