| This delightful villa is set in a valley that used to be the route up to the Sierra Morena. These days, it’s an area of smallholdings planted with orange trees, fruit orchards and olive groves which supply the owners and their neighbours with fresh fruit. Many houses are second homes or holiday homes or, as is the case with this charming villa, are rural tourism accommodation. As you walk up towards the house, you have lovely views of a landscape dotted with villas and cottages and the rolling Sierra Morena mountains in the background. The villa is set on a private estate (1.500m2) and is fenced all the way round its perimeter. There’s plenty of space for children (and adults!) to play outside. There’s a sunroom and an excellent terrace morover a grass area next to the swimming pool where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The sunroom is great on winter days where you can shut yourself away from the cold. The accommodation is on one floor (230m2), the living-dining room is spacious and comfortable and opens onto the kitchen; the four bedrooms are fully furnished and two sleep two people and other two four. The sleeping accommodation makes the villa perfect for large families or groups of friends, as there are enough beds to sleep twelve people. It’s an ideal spot to relax in the country and go walking. There are waymarked walks from the house over the Sierra, and in Hornachuelos Regional Park there are guided walks, just 8km from the house. There are also watersports nearby, such as canoeing on the Embalse de Hornachuelos (Hornachuelos reservoir) and waterskiing in the Embalse de La Breña (La Breña reservoir). Other activities include a visit to the castle at Almodóvar, Medina Azahara and the Mezquita in Córdoba. The villa is well positioned – only 2km from Posadas (shops, bars, services, etc) and 32km from the World Heritage Site of Cordoba. |
