Txindurri-iturri farmhouse is on a lovely part of the Basque coast Surrounded by mountains, meadows and woods, but a short walk away to the coastline with wonderful views of the Bay of Biscay, and close to the lively tourist towns of Zumaia and Deba. This rural guesthouse has been completely renovated inside in order to provide the needs and comforts for a pleasant holiday
We have 6 double bedrooms, all en-suite bath and shower, low-consumption heating and TV. Also available is a self-contained apartment with two bedrooms, kitchen/living room and ample balcony. Each bedroom has a different colour scheme and with antique furniture that has been restored and also of different styles. Even the stonework in each room gives each a special character. An important feature of the bedrooms is that each has an independent exit to a terrace which has views of the small valley in which the farmhouse is located.
One of the cosiest places is the sitting room located down below in the old cider store - decorated with old utensils for making the cider barrels and tools for harvesting the apples and making the cider, all of this accompanied by a cosy, wood-burning fireplace with wide armchairs for reading a book or enjoying the local, home-made spirit liquor.

‘Accommodation is clearly key when looking for a little R&R so it was with great joy that we discovered our temporary abode to be perched atop Mount Igeldo, one of three mountains skirting the city. Newly built but retaining the look of an old farmhouse, Maddiola is part of Nekazalturismoa, the rural house association that requires properties to hold a licence issued by the Basque Government following an inspection. It is pretty much a guarantee of quality and indeed, our temporary abode was a delightful resting place. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfasts of homemade yoghurt, honey and fruit salad are deliciously healthy and the mini-spa was a most welcome surprise. You simply cannot beat waking up and looking out on to a vast and sprawling coastline …’

Mutriku is 55km from San Sebastian. The holiday accommodation sleeps 5 people. Bilbao with its Guggenhhain museum is 70km away. Mutriku has a lovely old port and is a typical fishing village. Have a wander round the narrow cobbled streets of this historic village - one of the most ancient in Guipuzcoa and admire its old quarter - one of Spain's national treasures.
