It's positioned in the middle of the Ribeira Sacra area - an area famous for its excellent wines, food and crafts. It's one and a half hours by car from the beach. Ideally located for outdoor activities, such as walking, golf, archery, food festivals, crafts and a lively artistic and cultural heritage. The Ribeira Sacra is a little known area of Galicia scattered with old historic monuments ranging from the Celtic through to the middle ages. It's a mountainous area full of vineyards on the banks of the Miño and the Sil.

In the area you can explore on foot, mountain bike or by car many secrets of the area such as Romanesque churches, Roman and ‘Celtic’ remains, a river beach; not to mention a visit to one of the many wine Bodegas.

Casa do Cabazo is an unspoilt traditional Galician farmhouse (19th century) restored as a rural holiday house in a beautiful 12,000 metre estate on the shores of a reservoir and surrounded by oak and chestnut woods. The farmhouse has large comfortable rooms, communal rooms, library, dining rooms, games etc. Less than 30 minutes away: golf course, cruises on the River Sil, canoeing, outdoor activities, many pretty villages, restaurants etc. Lugo 45 minutes, Santiago de Compostela 75 mins.

Rural Guesthouse de Goian was the old vicarage in the village built in 1704 now completely restored as a holiday house. The house is in beautiful countryside in a UNESCO biosphere reserve in the south of Lugo province, one hour from Santiago de Compostela and on the Saint James Pilgrims way. The house has lovely home made breakfasts with local produce like cheese, marmalade and buns. We also have a restaurant where we serve traditional cuisine. Our rooms are decorated in rustic style. Large gardens, library and plenty of communal areas for relaxing. We also do weddings and business meetings.
