Zuheros is one of the most picturesque villages in Andalucía. Visit the nearby bat caves (Cuevas de los Murciélagos). Ideally situated on the fringe of the Sierra Subbetica Natural Park, this area is now becoming a popular base for walkers and painters. There is an old railway which passes the village which has been transformed into a Via Verde which serves as a walking and cycling route. The village also has a well known cheese factory Las Balanchares, which uses milk from locally bred goats in the sierras. Cheese can be bought directly from the factory. The hotel is located 100 km from Córdoba, an hour from Granada, and an hour and a half from Málaga.

This is one of three pretty holiday cottages on a private rural estate of 25 hectares, only 14km from the heart of the beautiful Human Heritage City of Cordoba. This extraordinary house is located in a estate planted with orange trees (2.500m2). We get here by going up the soft mountains at the North of Posadas village (2km) known as la Sierrezuela. We have to take Villaviciosa road which accompanies us along our way with views to a valley scattered with country houses. This road takes us to the path which goes to the estate, a path planted with fruit trees at both sides which belong to the different estates. A swimming pool and a well cared for grass welcome us to the property. It has a covered porch with many garden tables to enjoy the relaxed and calm atmosphere. Opposite the house and next to the swimming pool there is a covered barbecue, apart from a kitchen, a fridge and an oven to enjoy our holidays outdoors.
In the interior the living room surprises us due to its large dimensions where there is space for all the family or group of friends. It is well equipped with a fireplace and heating for winter and air conditioning for summer. The kitchen, fully equipped, is open to the living room with a singles bar. There are five comfortable bedrooms equipped with taste and quality furniture, all with mosquito nests on the windows; one of them has air conditioning and air heating which are also in the corridor to let the cold and heat get to the rest of the rooms.
Location: 500m distance to the nearest restaurant and 1.5km to another one, from where you can also go horse riding; 2km to Posadas (all services); 32km to Cordoba (30 min.), 106km to Sevilla (1h 30min.; airport) and 180km to Malaga (2h; airport).

RIVERO RURAL 2 is a holiday house built in 2004 on the site of an old farm and set around a 300m patio. It is pleasingly elegant and tastefully furnished and in winter is cosy and welcoming thanks to its open fire in the spacious lounge. In summer it stays cool and offers night after night of idyllic holidays spent between the pool and the barbecue. The Guadalquivir Valley is a joy to visit all year round and its easy access to Cordoba and Sevilla add a city dimension to your holiday. In spring you'll enjoy the wonderful colours and smells. This delightful villa is set in a valley that used to be the route up to the Sierra Morena. These days, it’s an area of smallholdings planted with orange trees, fruit orchards and olive groves which supply the owners and their neighbours with fresh fruit. Many houses are second homes or holiday homes or, as is the case with this charming villa, are rural tourism accommodation. As you walk up towards the house, you have lovely views of a landscape dotted with villas and cottages and the rolling Sierra Morena mountains in the background. The villa is set on a private estate (1.500m2) and is fenced all the way round its perimeter. There’s plenty of space for children (and adults!) to play outside. There’s a sunroom and an excellent terrace morover a grass area next to the swimming pool where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The sunroom is great on winter days where you can shut yourself away from the cold. The accommodation is on one floor (230m2), the living-dining room is spacious and comfortable and opens onto the kitchen; the four bedrooms are fully furnished and two sleep two people and other two four. The sleeping accommodation makes the villa perfect for large families or groups of friends, as there are enough beds to sleep twelve people. It’s an ideal spot to relax in the country and go walking. There are waymarked walks from the house over the Sierra, and in Hornachuelos Regional Park there are guided walks, just 8km from the house. There are also watersports nearby, such as canoeing on the Embalse de Hornachuelos (Hornachuelos reservoir) and waterskiing in the Embalse de La Breña (La Breña reservoir). Other activities include a visit to the castle at Almodóvar, Medina Azahara and the Mezquita in Córdoba. The villa is well positioned – only 2km from Posadas (shops, bars, services, etc) and 32km from the World Heritage Site of Cordoba.

This stylish villa built in traditional Cordoba style is in a quiet residential area and ideal and offers relaxation, but is also close to the nearby village of Hornachuelos (2km). The villa has a carefully tended lawned area to the front and some steps lead up to a porch which gives access to a spacious and comfortable living / dining room. All the rooms in the villa are tastefully furnished. The swimming pool and the al fresco dining area with barbecue are at the back of the villa and are very private. The property is ideally positioned to explore the Hornachuelos regional park or have a day out in Córdoba (50km) or Sevilla (90km), but also has typical tapas bars (serving venison and wild boar) and shops within walking distance (500m) and there’s a nearby restaurant (next to the petrol station) which is a lovely alternative to cooking, but without needing to take the car.

This pretty villa with it’s swimming pool so close to the city of Cordoba defies description and needs to be seen to appreciate it’s specialness. Claudio Marcelo the founder of Cordoba would have chosen a place like this to rest between his conquests and imperial wars. in the same way as would our Andalucian ancestors – the Jews, the Moors or the Christians – at the time when Cordoba was one of the most important cities of the world, each would have come here with his own God to this place where nature would have comforted each one of them. Driving towards our villa exuberant nature takes over as our holiday companion and in Spring the green wheat or corn covers the surrounding farmland. A simple portico welcomes us to the estate (25 hectares) which carries out ecological agriculture. The vegetation is particularly lush and there are many examples of hundred year old trees; palms, almonds, cypresses, walnuts, mulberry, poplars, orange and lemon trees... This house is the first one we come to on the estate, (there are two more, while the owners live in their own house in another part of the estate). The villa has accommodation for 4 people with a possibility of 2 more in extra beds. The house has a pretty porch which is covered by a vine in summer protecting us from the sun. A simple outdoor table with benches serve for outdoor dining and for relaxing and watching the splendid sunsets. The swimming pool (shared with the other houses) adds beauty and freshness to the surroundings. The house has been decorated by the owners, and it’s original paintings on the walls give it a special originality and colour all of it’s own, particularly the refreshing mural painted on one of the walls of the lounge – dining room. There is a very well equipped kitchen which leads out onto the two porches – terraces of the house. The two bedrooms are very well decorated and with high quality linen. This is a very relaxing and peaceful place, only 20 minutes by car from the heart of Cordoba, a Human Heritage City, full of important Roman and Moorish monuments like the famous Mosque. There are the enormous caves which were once Arab quarries and which give this area a special atmosphere. These caves are often the site of artistic and ecological events.
