There's lots to do in the vicinity of the Dehesa Pelabanegas. There's a lot to offer outdoor people with the nearby Monfragüe National Park (more than 18,000 hectares of biosphere reserve and protected area for birds), the Gredos Regional Park, the Jerte valley with its estimated two million cherry trees and the impressive Grutas del Águila around three million years old. The area has a rich and varied cultural life: the town of Oropesa, the nearby Talavera de la Reina, and the villages of Lagartera (with its embriodery crafts) and the Puente del Arzobispo (with its ceramic crafts). There are also some very enjoyable day trips to the cities of Toledo, Trujillo, Guadalupe, Yuste, Ávila and Cáceres. All that and little more than an hour from Madrid. This area is good for walking, cycling, 4x4 trips, quadbiking, horseriding, adventure sports, hunting and fishing.

In our Country Guesthouse we hope to provide the traveller with a haven of peace and comfort in surroundings that fuse together with nature, countryside, culture and entertainment. The guesthouse is on the sunny southern slopes of the Gredos mountains close to Toledo. In our restaurant we pride ourselves on cooking good regional food from local products, like the tradtional potato and wild mushroom soup, and interesting and nutritious stews with vegetables and beans. Delicious roast lamb and suckling pig and homemade puddings.

La Aldaba is a lovingly-restored self catering house (2005) that dates back to the beginning of the century. Today it still has many of its original features and structure, such as wooden ceilings, thick walls of sun-dried bricks, wooden floors, wrought iron railings and balconies that look over the village square. The house is cosy and has the interest of a small museum! Its antiques, locally made craft works and original features give you a feel of the house’s heritage – all to be enjoyed from the comfort of the 21st century holiday accommodation.
