Huerta grande is a tourism complex on 8 hectareas of land, situated at the entrance to the Alcornocales regional park, at Km 96 of the national highway 340 (between Tarifa and Algeciras). Huerta grande has a restaurant with lounge with open fire in the winter, terrace and lawn for the summer and magnificent views over the Estrecho all year round. The house is less than 15 minutes from the magnificent beaches of Tarifa.
The Costa de la Luz is on the Atlantic and has fine, sandy beaches often with sand dunes and pine trees. The temperatures along this coast are slightly milder and the strong Atlantic winds and waves make it a great place for surfers. There is local information on outdoor activities on offer: walking, mountain biking, horseriding, climbing, culture routes (can be organised).
La Casa del Comandante is a typical, early 20th-century Andalusian house with a tile roof. It has three bedrooms, each with ensuite (four bathrooms in total), living room with fireplace, television and a kitchen. The house sleeps 6 to 10 people; guests can rent the entire house or individual rooms.

Nature lovers are in for a treat with these comfortable log cabins actually in the Alcornocales regional park. This parque natural is one of the best places in Spain for birdwatching and is known throughout the world to birdwatchers. Each log cabin has either one or two bedrooms and sleeps 2 or 4 people respectively. They're on an estate which is also home to some casas rurales (see property refs 22179 and 22178) with which they share a swimming pool and some of the outdoor space. Each log cabin has its own entrance where you can sit and enjoy the peace and scenery. Inside the accommodation is simple but comfortable: equipped kitchen (no washing machine but there is a laundry service), a shower room and one or two comfortable bedrooms.
Position: Getares beach in Algeciras is 6km away. For fans of windsurf, surf, bodyboard, kite, hang gliding, fishing, horseriding or climbing, the best facilities / places are close by (approx 12Km): Tarifa beaches for windsports and between Tarifa and Bolonia, for climbing. For beach lovers the beaches have fine sand and beach bars (chiringuitos) to try out the local food.
Closest airport: Gibraltar (20min); train station 8km and bus stop 300m. The nearest golf course is in San Roque (15km) and another in Sotogrande (30min). Tennis courts and riding stables 8km. Active tourism, walking, climbing, whale watching. Oragnised groups. In the straits of Gibraltar there are spectacular sights of migrating birds, recorded by sailors and nature lovers over the centuries. This unique residence is built in the West Wing of the original building ‘La Real Fabrica de Artilleria de Carlos III’, which manufactured cannon balls used during the Great Siege of Gibraltar 1779 – 1783 and the Indies wars, hence its name:
“La Fabrica de Bombas”.

The villas can be rented individually or together and are ideal for families or groups of friends with children as they’re completely fenced and safe for small children. To the front of the house is an area of level ground where you can park and which is covered in roses, bougainvillea and banana trees. A covered porch leads into the house. The swimming pool has grass all around and is open all year for a refreshing dip, weather permitting. The accommodation is newly built and is arranged on one floor. The dining / living room has an open fire and the kitchen has a big breakfast bar and opens out onto the living room. The bedrooms are colourfully decorated and well furnished. The furniture is good quality in the traditional, local style and the ceilings have wooden beams.

Sanlucar offers excellent food, especially fish and seafood and with good variety of wines.

Each villa is however self contained and private. This villa is next to the pool which is planted with scented plants such as jasmin, honeysuckle as well as wisteria, cork trees, bay and other indigenous Mediterranean trees. El Batan de Lara is a charming holiday house which was originally a working watermill. Situated on the banks of the River Majaceite in the heart of the beautiful Regional Park of Grazalema in Cadiz, in it's own grounds of 15.000 m2 with impressive views of the surrounding countryside. The accommodation is self catering and the house has been beautifully restored throughout, with wooden beams in all rooms, moorish roof tiles and several covered terraces for outdoor dining. The house is beautifully equipped and has lovely rustic, country style furniture throughout. The cottage is on the outskirts of the village of Benamahoma which is within walking distance. The main town of Grazalema in the Regional Park is 11km, Arcos (Golf courses) is 25km or 20 mins drive, the beautiful town of Ronda in the mountains is just 45km, and Jerez de la Frontera is 65km. The lovely beaches of Cadiz are about a 40 min drive. There are direct flights from the UK to Jerez airport which is close by.
