Villa Palmera is set on a hillside with views to the coast and the surrounding hills planted with almond trees. Only a 10 minute drive from the towns of Motril and Salobrena or to the beaches it is ideally located to provide a peaceful and secluded holiday and is also near enough to all things of interest in the area. For those with children, there are waist height child security gates between the house and pool/terrace.
The house is very much a second home and is therefore equipped to a high and comfortable standard. It is built in the traditional Andalucian style and features cool tiled floors throughout and wooden window shutters - all with mosquito nets. The main house is on one level and has two large bedrooms (both with ceiling fans), one bathroom with bidet, bath/shower, a large sitting room and an American style bar/kitchen at one end. The kitchen comes equipped with everything you could possibly need.
A door from the kitchen area leads onto a side terrace. Here you will find the brickbuilt BBQ, wooden pergola offering shade with table and chairs for alfresco dining. In the evenings the front terrace with ceiling fan offers good views over the night-lit swimming pool to the hillsides.
Villa Palmera has satellite TV channels (BB1, BBC2, after 7pm BBC3 and BBC4, ITV, CBeebies, SKY News, CNN, travel/music/cartoon channels) as well as Spanish TV reception. There are plenty of books and board games. There is also a DVD player and plenty of DVDs.
The separate garden studio situated opposite the house has large double entrance doors into a bedroom with 2 single beds, a bathroom and kitchenette and offers spacious self contained accommodation. There is also a separate foldaway bed suitable for a child which can be moved where needed.
The well maintained gardens are planted with flowering plants and shrubs and the many palm trees surrounding the house and pool/terrace offer welcome shade. There are plenty of cushioned sunloungers around the pool. A children´s paddling pool is also available if required.
Motril is the largest town on the Costa Tropical de Granada. Here you have access to modern shops, hundreds of authentic eateries and excellent shopping from luxurious to bargain. The fresh food market is open every day except Sundays and the outdoor market comes to town every Tuesday and Friday morning.
Activities abound nearby. Many of our guests have enjoyed horseback riding, offered by a reliable outfit quite close to the villa. Others prefer hiking along many of the suggested routes in the area. Everyone can appreciate Granada, rich in culture and history and undoubtedly the jewel of the province. Between Villa Palmera and Granada lie the charming Lecrin Valley and the Alpujarras villages. Countless pueblos selling traditional crafts and offering mouth-watering hearty fare await your exploration, most within an hour´s drive from this villa.

Apartment Solbakken is situated in the historic old town of Salobrena on the Costa Tropical de Granada and has spectacular views over the Mediterranean Sea and the snowcapped Sierra Nevada mountains.
There are not many opportunities to rent an apartment in the old town of Salobrena with communal swimming pool included! The swimming pool is open between the beginning of June and end of September annually from 9 am to 9pm.
The apartment´s upper terrace has sunbathing and dining areas and there are sun umbrellas for shade. From the sitting room is the second terrace with views over the town and coastline. To relax on the terraces whether by daytime or at night with the lights of the town twinkling below is an unforgettable experience and an integral part of your stay here.
Apartment Solbakken is tucked away in a quiet residencial area a short walk from street parking. It is on the 3rd floor with no lift. The accommodation includes one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, fully fitted kitchen and large bathroom with bath/shower. The spacious sitting/dining room has satellite TV (free to air channels), DVD, CD player.
Although a car is recommended to get the most out of your holiday it is not essential. Buses run from Malaga, Granada, and Almeria to the bus station in Salobrena and a local bus service will take you up to the end of our street in the old town and down to the beach.
Salobrena is really two towns, the historic “casco antiguo” of traditional white houses and narrow streets winding up to the castle, and the new town of wider streets and shady boulevards below with all the bustle in summer of a lively Spanish holiday resort. It is a sizeable town and local centre with a life of its own independent of tourism so plenty of restaurants and bars stay open even out of season. There is a choice of at least four well stocked supermarkets for food and other basics.
A short stroll takes you to the Arab fort and original town square, museum and the church of Our Lady of the Rosary, built on the ruins of the mosque. A wider choice of restaurants and shops is available down in the newer parts of town and along the busy seafront with its sandy beaches - a short walk or even shorter bus ride away. The Alpuharras national park and the Alhambra in Granada are both less than an hour away.
Salobrena has excellent beaches and restaurants. The beaches are a short, steep walk downhill, a short drive or simply take the bus which comes on the hour every hour from the top of the road and does a circular route. The beaches are clean and boast a variety of activities from fishing by the famous El Penon restaurant where you can dine with views overlooking the sea in both directions or you may wish simply to sunbathe or do scuba diving/jet skiing further up the 2 km stretch of beaches bordering the Paseo Maritimo.
A short 20 minute drive westwards along the coast is Almunecar, a busier resort but with its own castle and historic quarter as well. This is the place to go for nightlife and a slightly livelier sense of pace. The weekly flea market and summer jazz festival are well worth taking in.
An even shorter trip along the coast in the other direction brings you to Motril, a sizeable port and with a hypermarket and an extensive array of fashionable shops and boutiques.
If you can see yourself enjoying a quiet drink on the terraces with views across the town and coastline, then this could be your ideal spot. We feel this apartment offers a truly different holiday experience and a flavour of the real Spain away from the ravages of mass tourism.

Apartment Nautilus provides a stylish base from which to explore the Costa Tropical of Granada. Only just completed and on Los Moriscos golf course and a few minutes walk from the beachfront between Motril and Salobrena, it offers truly superior seaside accommodation.
Designed to take full advantage of its position guests will undoubtedly appreciate the terrace that offers, in one direction, views over the swimming pool and well manicured gardens to the Mediterranean sea. In the other direction you will be able to see the snow topped Sierra Nevadas during the winter months while sitting sipping a cool drink in the balmy 18º temperatures.
Apartment Nautilus has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one en-suite) - these bedrooms can be arranged as 4 single beds or one double and a twin bedded room. The finishings include cream marble tiles, double-glazed windows, central air conditioning/heating and ceramic-tiled bathrooms and kitchen. The sitting room has two large leather sofas, a large flat screen TV, with free to air satellite English speaking channels, DVD and CD player with a selection of books, DVDs and board games.
The apartment has a very livable floorplan, with the sleeping areas separated from the main sitting and eating areas. The living room can even be closed off, so late night owls can carry on without disturbing those tucked in for the evening.
The thoroughly modern kitchen sports all the bells and whistles you need to prepare your own fare: A four ring electric hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, full-sized fridge and freezer, electric kettle and coffee maker combine with complete sets of crockery and cookware to satisfy every need.
The popular 18 hole course and golf club is a pleasurable 10 minute walk away, as is Los Moriscos bar and restaurant. A few minutes further along the beachfront you come to numerous chiringuitos (beach side restaurants and bars).
The area enjoys a microclimate, subtropical in character, a warm and gentle 18 degrees in winter and an average of 25 degrees in summer. Guests have full access to the large well-maintained swimming pool (and separate children´s pool) on site open mid June to mid September . Swimmers and sun-worshippers preferring to paddle the surf and feel the sand under their toes are only a short stroll away from the beaches.
Playa Granada is the sort of place that you could easily make yourself at home in for the length of your stay. At the same time, if exploring the area is more to your liking, you can rest assured that you are ideally located for any number of day trips. The fascinating Alpujarras villages are even closer to you than the beautiful, culturally rich city of Granada, home to the famous Alhambra Palace, last stand of the Moors.
Granada lies approximately 50 minutes from Playa Granada. Or in the same amount of time you could find yourself in Nerja, a longtime favorite destination and home to some excellent Irish pubs, Indian curry houses and many a happy expat. Don't miss the real Spanish side of this town, however, the humble local church and the stunning Balcon de Europa are both worth a visit.
A car is recommended for this property and there is private garage parking underneath the building. The apartment is situated approx. 5 minutes by car from both Salobrena and Motril, where you will find everything from fresh markets and boot sales to large supermarkets with convenient parking.
Salobrena is a charming castle-topped town with a delightful rabbit warren of picturesque streets in its old quarter. Motril is a bustling modern Spanish city with designer shops, great tapas bars, fine restaurants and a lively nightlife.
Whether you are a large family or a group of friends, skiers (the ski resort of Sol y Nieve is only just over a one hour drive away), scuba diving (just 20 minutes away), swimmers or golfers, we are confident that Apartment Nautilus is a perfect backdrop for a relaxing, unforgettable holiday.

Villa Nolano is situated 5 minutes behind the town of Motril with views to the Mediterranean Sea. The house is not overlooked by other properties offering total privacy.
Once inside the private gates, you are in your own world. Glimpse the Mediterranean through the soaring sugar cane and flowering shrubs that surround the lush lawn and pool area of this oasis just outside Motril.
With space to comfortably accommodate up to six people, Villa Nolano is a fantastic getaway for families wanting some fun in the sun. Parents will appreciate the secured fencing that separates the pool area from the house. Indeed, several features of the property are designed for maximum convenience. There is a WC with basin and loo on the ground floor, nicely situated for kids; the unique glass-paned arch in the kitchen is perfect for keeping an eye on the little ones as they play on the front terrace; it is also useful for passing plates through to those dining alfresco.
The large fully tiled swimming pool is set in the lawned garden amid flower beds and palm trees; it features mosaic steps at one end and a patio sunbathing area around the perimeter. Security gates help keep wandering toddlers at bay. Thoughtfully placed night lighting means the grounds can be enjoyed around the clock. An Andalucian-tiled, rose-filled patio wraps around three sides of this traditional home. A few steps from the kitchen lead to a built brick barbecue.
The barbecue is next to a large country room. This room was traditionally the "Men's Kitchen," and was where they would gather and roast meats or hang sausages to dry as they passed the afternoon. A very large fireplace dominates the room, and casual table and chairs complete the rustic scene.
In the main house the large, sunny eat-in kitchen affords all the amenities, from full-sized fridge/freezer to a quality heavy juicer and espresso maker. Smartly done up in sparkling charcoal granite with contrasting cream colored cabinets, it offers plenty of work and storage space. The wide Spanish-tiled kitchen window sill looks over the patio and barbecue area, which is conveniently accessed from the kitchen through a side door.
The comfortable sitting room has plenty of space and is well equipped with CD and DVD players, free-to-air English speaking satellite channels and Spanish TV reception, books and games. A working open fireplace adds the perfect cosy touch after a day of skiing, or for taking the chill off of the cooler evenings.
A spiral marble staircase leads from the ground level to the bedrooms and main bathroom on the sunny first floor. The full-sized modern bathroom has ample storage space, wide granite countertop, a large mirror over the sink, shower over bath, bidet and loo.
Sunshine streams into the good-sized bedrooms (one double, two twins), all of which are fitted in charming country furnishings. The bedrooms and bathroom all open onto a generous landing that is dotted with antique furniture. More stairs lead to the second floor roof terrace, from where one gets sweeping views of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the countryside and the sea.
Villa Nolano is a five-minute drive from Motril, the largest town on the Costa Tropical de Granada. Here you have access to modern grocery stores, hundreds of authentic eateries and excellent shopping from luxurious to bargain. The fresh food market is open every day except Sunday, and the rastro-style mercadillo comes to town every Tuesday and Friday. This is all five minutes from your holiday home. A car is essential.
A mere 50 minutes from the property, home of the famous Alhambra Palace, this gorgeous capital is a must-see. Shopping, culture, history, fiestas, plazas, restaurants, nightlife...Granada has it all. It also is home to the Parque de Ciencias, a new hands-on science museum, which is a joy for visitors of all ages.
Between Villa Nolano and Granada lie the charming Lecrin Valley and Alpujarras villages. Countless pueblos selling traditional crafts and offering mouth-watering hearty fare await your exploration, most within an hour's drive from this villa.
Or spend a day wandering the seaside. Lively Nerja, ever popular with tourists, is half an hour down the coast (those homesick for a Guiness or a curry will find themselves mollified!) Closer by, Almunecar and Salobrena are sizable traditional Mediterranean villages, both well worth a visit.

Designed to take full advantage of its top floor position (4 floors only), guests will undoubtedly appreciate the very large main terrace that offers full views of both the Mediterranean and the Sierra mountain range. Patio furniture, barbecue grill, sun loungers and planters all combine for gracious outdoor living. Or you may find yourself sipping a leisurely sunset cocktail from the good-sized, furnished, private terrace that is off the double bedded room. Both terraces are perfect outdoor spaces in which to enjoy the enviable climate here.
The area enjoys a microclimate, subtropical in character, a warm and gentle 18 degrees in winter and an average of 25 degrees in summer. Guests have full access to the large well-maintained swimming pool on site open mid June to mid September and there is also a health spa with indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms, showers, toilets and changing rooms. There is also a paddle tennis court on site. Swimmers and sun-worshippers preferring to paddle the surf and feel the sand under their toes are only a short stroll away from the beaches.
The penthouse has a very livable floorplan, with the sleeping areas well separated from the main sitting and eating areas. The living room can even be closed off, so late night owls can carry on without disturbing those tucked in for the evening.
The large sitting room is beautifully decorated with quality furnishings. Two chocolate leather sofas provide a plush seat from which to enjoy the flat-screen TV and DVD/CD music system. A selection of books, CDs, movies and games are provided for your enjoyment.
A quiet nook just off the sitting room is outfitted with a beautiful dark polished wood table and chairs. This dining area is located next to large sliding glass doors that lead to the main terrace, making it very convenient if you want to barbecue outside and dine indoors.
The thoroughly modern kitchen sports all the bells and whistles you need to prepare your own fare: A four ring electric hob and oven, family-sized microwave, dishwasher, full-sized fridge and freezer, electric kettle and coffee maker combine with complete sets of crockery and cookware to satisfy every need. An open-air separate utility area off the kitchen houses the washing machine and an extra sink.
The double-bedded room features large double sliding doors that open to a private terrace. One twin-bedded room includes a full ensuite bathroom with full length bath/shower. There is also a hideaway bed in this room, boosting the total possible occupancy to seven persons.
The penthouse is situated approx.
Whether you are a large family or a group of friends, skiers, swimmers or golfers, we are confident that The Penthouse is a perfect backdrop for a relaxing, unforgettable holiday.
