| A traditional, restored cottage-type Andalucian village house in a beautiful small village, Polopos, 10 km from the sea, on the southern slopes of the Alpujarras. Polopos is at an altitude of 780 m, and so has a wonderful view across the Mediterranean. On a clear day one can see as far as Africa. The atmosphere of the village is very peaceful, calm and quiet. It's wonderful for walking.

The midsummer months are usually very hot. Ideal months for perfect warm sunny weather are May/June and September/October. Average temperatures are : April 15C, July 25-30C, October 20C, January 12C.
The house has 5 rooms plus bathroom and an outside terrace, not overlooked, and is simply, not luxuriously furnished with pine and cane furniture..
There are several good value restaurants nearby, on the coast and in the hills.
If you enjoy country walking, you can see 4 walks near the village on www.walkingworld.com (walks 4692-4695). The winter is perfect for walking.
Polopos is about 25 miles from the GR7 walking route.
There are local markets at Motril and Salobrena, Tuesday and Friday, Orgiva on Thursdays, and Granada at the weekend.
You can visit the houses of Garcia Lorca in and near Granada
There are also flights to Malaga airport, about 2 hours drive away.
There is a swimming pool in a campsite at the coast 10 km away, only open in the summer. |
