Summary
Escape the masses and experience real Spain here in a traditional village house set among beautiful scenery and orange groves. Algar is well placed for the beach and Valencia city but offers you the chance to explore more rural Spain and its wonderful people. Great for children, too, as the village has limited traffic, and the house is in a no through lane bursting with flowerpots and next to the main square. The children will love running wild and , if they need cooling down, the open air municipal swimming pool is 300metres away, again very easy to access

Additional information The house, whose accommodation is on the first floor, has a small terrace for outdoors dining, and a balcony for watching the daily life of the villagers. You'll love it, but remember, this is real Spain so bring your phrase book! The apartment is on the first floor of this old spanish village house, nominated a Casa Rural by the Valencian tourist board. It retains many original features, such as original beams and traditional doors. There are 2 double bedrooms, one of which has an 'alcoba', a traditional dressing room just before the bedroom ( single beda available) and a single room. The kitchen diner is spacious with a fully fitted kitchen, washingmachine, fridge and a wood burning range for the cooler nights or just to create a romantic atmosphere! The kitchen leads on to the terrace which has a table and 4 chairs. The shower room is modern and fully equipped. The lounge has 2 sofas, television and balcony which overlooks the lane. There are electric radiators in all rooms, and bedlinen/towels are provided. The village has 3 bars, all of which allow you to book a table for the evening, take along your OWN FOOD and just order drinks and olives . With a family, this is a godsend as you can eat out, soak up the atmosphere all for 10 euros! By the way, wine in a restaurant ranges from 3 to 5 euros a bottle and coffees normally 1 euro. There are several bakeries, a butchers, bank and 2 grocery shops. The village is 20minutes from the beach, 15minutes from the impressive hilltop Roman Castle at Sagunto and 30 minutes from the airport and Valencia city. Further inland, you may like to visit Teruel or go skiing in Valdilinares( both 1 hour from Algar). On you doorstep are some beautiful villages. Within 5 minutes is the picturesque hillside church at Sot de Ferrer and within 15 minutes is the impressive waterfall and rock formations at Navajas where free open air concerts are held every Saturday night through July and August - a must! Jerica, 20 minutes away, is a moorish village with winding streets that lead you up to a beautiful moorish tower, a breathtaking sight from the approach road. I could go on, but you really need to come and see the place for yourself - the Costas, this is not!
