| A beautifully reformed rustic country house respecting all the structure of the working cottage it originally was, in an unspoilt village still steeped with it’s Arabic – Andalusi influence, coming to greet us as we approach from afar. On arrival at the villa we find ourselves on the Sierra taking in views of a splendid landscape cloaked in olive trees, cherry trees and walnut trees. The house has a lovely swimming pool with charming sunshades provided by a vine arbour, and extending from the front of the house an excellent terrace which serves as our patio, and which becomes covered in summer with the traditional shady vines. Once inside the house we find two large living rooms; the smaller one inside the house itself; and another one – grander and very comfortable in an annex, with an open fireplace and a barbecue and which is ideal for get-togethers with our family and friends. Going back to the house itself, we find ourselves in the large well equipped kitchen, which maintains the original hearth of the house and can be a great place to spend a cosy time around the fire together. On this floor there are also two double bedrooms and a bathroom. On the upper floor there are four double bedrooms, all delightfully decorated, full of colour, light and cosy at the same time, with their sloping ceilings and white painted beams, which picks out the character of the house’s construction and are faithful to it’s original design. There is another bathroom on this floor.
The rural house is close to the village of Alcaudete where there are shops, restaurants, bank etc. There are many interesting things to see in the area and for visitors who are interested the father of the owner of the property can take people round the traditional olive oil mills and the old bakery in the village. There are many signposted walking and easy mountain biking routes in the Sierra de Ahillo, where the house is located. Hang gliding has long been a popular sport in this area, given the height of the sierra and there is an active club close by, with qualified monitors for those wanting to learn or those more experienced. Fishing is available in the nearby reservoir on the River Víboras (1.5km). For full days out to Andalucia's monumental cities Jaen 50km, Granada 70km, and Córdoba 80km are all less than an hour away.
