| Great Rural Hostal in beautiful medeavel city of Pastrana, little known by foriegners, yet less than an hour from Madrid! Housed at the top of the town in a beautifully reformed old building the rooftop swimming pool, refreshing after a busy day out, has great views over the unspoilt town's 500 year old roof tops and down towards the lush valley of the river Tagus. Pastrana itself is a delight to discover, monastries, palaces, museums, the synagogue, churches, old squares and winding streets and a range of bars and restaurants to suit everytaste from tapas to gourmet. The surrounding area; from a particularly beautiful stretch of the Tagus Valley, a plethora of ancient villages and castles to discover, and to the striking mountainous range of the Sierra of Altamira and it's large dams with watersports and nautical centres also has a lot to offer more sporting types. Great option for a few days away or combine with a trip to the capital. Great prices for a really comfortable hotel - spacious rooms, cool and air-conditioned in summer, warm and cosy in winter, with our friendly welcome.
